Word Rangers – Category Sharing Policy

Word Rangers allows users to create custom categories and share them with others. We are committed to keeping the platform safe, respectful, and suitable for our audience.

By creating and sharing a custom category (by any method), you agree to comply with this policy.

1. How Sharing Works

There are two ways to share a custom category:

1.1 Link Sharing

• A unique link is generated for your category.
• The link allows access to that category via our secure iCloud database.
• Anyone with the link may be able to access the category.

We do not provide public browsing of link-shared categories inside the app. However, if you share the link publicly (for example on social media, messaging platforms, or websites), your category may be accessed by a broader audience than you intended. You are responsible for how and where you distribute your shared link.

1.2 Category Shop

• You can submit your category to the Category Shop, where other users can discover and import it.
• Every Category Shop submission is reviewed by a human moderator before it becomes publicly visible.
• When submitting to the shop, you choose whether to be credited anonymously or with your Game Center display name. See Section 5 for full details.
• Buyers pay a small coin fee to import your category, and you receive those coins as a creator earning.

2. Moderation & Content Review

To help maintain a safe experience:

• Shared categories (both link-shared and Category Shop submissions) may be subject to automatic AI-based content checks.
• Shared categories may also be reviewed by human moderators.
• For link sharing, reviews may occur before or after a category is accessed by others.
• For the Category Shop, all submissions are reviewed by a human moderator before becoming publicly visible in the shop.

We reserve the right to review any category that is shared through the platform.

3. Content Standards

Categories must remain appropriate for a general puzzle-game audience. Content that may be rejected includes, but is not limited to:

• Harassment & Bullying: Targeting individuals or groups with insults or humiliation; encouraging harassment; personal attacks.
• Hate Speech & Discrimination: Racism; religious intolerance; sexism; homophobia or transphobia; nationality-based discrimination; any hateful or degrading language toward protected groups.
• Explicit or Sexual Content: Sexual content or innuendo; pornographic references; graphic or adult themes.
• Violence or Harm: Graphic violence; encouragement of physical harm; self-harm content.
• Illegal or Dangerous Content: Encouraging illegal activity; drug promotion; weapon promotion; dangerous stunts or behaviour.
• Personal Data: Sharing private information about yourself or others; phone numbers, addresses, emails, or other identifying information.
• Inappropriate Language: Profanity; obscene or vulgar language.
• Impersonation or Misleading Content: Pretending to be another person; misleading users about official status or endorsement.

This list is not exhaustive. We reserve the right to determine what content is inappropriate at our sole discretion.

4. Personal Information in Category Content

Word Rangers is designed to store minimal personal data about you. To keep it that way, please do not include any information in your categories that might identify you or anyone else. This includes real names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and any other personally identifiable information. Keeping categories free of personal details protects your privacy and the privacy of others — especially for categories that may be shared publicly via link or the Category Shop.

You may mention well-known public figures where their information is publicly available, but do not include addresses, phone numbers, or emails of any individual.

5. Identity and Display Name Consent

When sharing a category (via link or to the Category Shop), you will be asked to choose your sharing identity:

• Share Anonymously: No name is associated with your category. This is the default if you are not signed in to Game Center.
• Share as [Game Center Display Name]: Your Game Center display name (not your underlying player ID) will be publicly associated with your category. This option is only available if you are authenticated with Game Center.

By selecting "Share as [Game Center Display Name]", you consent to that name being stored in our CloudKit public database and visible to all users of Word Rangers. You may choose a different option on any future share. If you delete your data using the in-app "Delete My Data" feature, your display name will be automatically removed from all shared listings.

6. Enforcement

If your shared category violates this policy:

• You may be asked to edit or modify the category.
• Your category may be removed (including from the Category Shop).
• You may receive a warning.
• Your ability to share categories may be temporarily or permanently suspended.
• Repeated violations may result in account restrictions within the app.

We may take action at any time to protect users and maintain platform integrity.

7. Reporting Concerns

If you encounter a category that you believe violates this policy, please use the in-app report button or contact us directly. Include the category name and a description of the issue.

8. No Guarantee of Privacy After Link Sharing

Once you share a category link, we cannot control where the link is reposted. We cannot guarantee that only your intended recipients will access it. Please share responsibly.

9. Sharing Costs

Your first share each day is free. Additional link shares cost 50 coins to cover moderation costs. You can share up to 10 categories per day. Category Shop submission costs are described in the Category Shop Policy.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the sharing feature indicates acceptance of any changes.
